Amtrak

These are matte paintings. In them I attempted to reference the aesthetics of the sublime. In these images I create a sense of sublime warmth that is golden and auburn in nature. I create what one could call an eternal fall. The viewer is forced to stop in front of a railroad crossing and in that moment is presented with the bliss and joys of other methods of travel. By being confronted by a superior way of travel the viewer is forced too internalize and question his own methods of travel and can only enjoy this moment by imaging the simple pleasures riding a train would present.
